Our classes occur every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Beginners are always welcome.  No partners are needed.

Park in the church parking lot.  We dance in the gym on the first floor.                                                                                         

When class must be cancelled due to inclement weather or an unforeseeable event, members will be notified by email asap, sometimes late in the day.  A cancellation notice will be posted on this website and on our Facebook page.

COVID-19 Policy: Current protocols do not require COVID screening or proof of vaccination. Masks are optional and we do ask that you refrain from attending if you are feeling unwell. Take care, stay well and follow the guidelines from public health officials.

January 22, 2026

We practiced several dances learned previously including Canadian Landscape (S3x32) 3C; The Robertson Rant (S1x80) 4C square set; Bratach Bàna (R8x32) 3C (4C set); and Maxwell’s Rant (R8x32) 3C (4C set). Some new dances that we worked on included General Stuart’s Reel (R8x 32) 3C (4C set) and The White Heather Jig J40x4 (4C set). We concluded class with tea and cookies.

January 15, 2026

This week we continued to learn several new dances. These included a strathspey from 1885 entitled The Glasgow Highlanders (S8x32) 2C (4C set); The Robertson Rant (S1x80) 4C square set; a reel called Bratach Bàna (R8x32) 3C (4C set); and Hooper’s Jig (J8x32) 3C (4C set), which was first published in 1751. We continued our practice of ending the evening with tea & treats.

January 8, 2026

For the first class of 2026, we learned several new dances and also reviewed a few familiar ones. These included The Highland Rambler (R8x40) 3C (4C set); Mark and Susie’s Jig (J8x32) 3C (4C set); Canadian Landscape (S3x32) 3C; The Yorkshire Rose (J8x32) 3C (4C set); The Silver Tassie (S8x32) 3C (4C set); The Minister on the Loch (S3x32) 3C; and Pelorus Jack (J8x32) 3C (4C set). We ended the evening with a short social of tea & cookies.

Scottish Country Dancing in Redford Township, Michigan

Introductory classes are offered through the Redford Township Leisure Services. All dance levels are welcome, and no partner or formal experience is required. Classes will run on Tuesdays at 7:00-8:30 pm from September 16 – October 14.  A free class/makeup class will be held on October 21. Cost is $25 and classes will be held at the Redford Community Center located at 12121 Hemingway, Redford Township, Michigan.  Registration information can be found here: https://www.redfordtwp.gov/188/Leisure-Services

Winter and spring classes will be held at the Recreation & Wellness Center located at 14701 Beech Daly, Redford Township, Michigan.

RSCDS Windsor Branch Tea Dance – sunday, March 1, 2026

Save the datE – london Branch Annual Ball – Saturday, May 2, 2026  

The London Branch will hold their annual ball at the Polish Combatants’ Hall, located at 80 Ann Streen in London Ontario.  The reception starts at 5:30pm, followed by dinner at 6:30pm with dancing to follow.  The program can be downloaded here: london-canada-annual-ball-may-2026.
